Long-Sleeved Aprons
Our disposable long-sleeved aprons, with thumb loop, are manufactured with Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). We use virgin disposable, non-sterile, 25 micron LDPE. The garments are fully recyclable.
The advent of Covid 19 has highlighted the need for health professionals to be fully protected. The long-sleeved apron prevents transmission of the virus to clothing. The thumb loop ensures the sleeves don’t creep up.
Additionally, using sanitiser, wearing masks and using personal protective equipment (PPE) enhances protection.
It is also vital to ensure that the PPE is changed regularly, to avoid cross-contamination.
The thumb loop prevents sleeve slipping up during work activities.
Adds protection by keeping the cuff of the sleeve tucked into protective gloves.
To achieve this there are various types of garments available. Choosing the type of disposable garment is dependant primarily on two considerations.
1. Type of work being performed
2. Level of risk
Naturally, cost-effectiveness is a consideration.
There are alternative PPE options. The industry norm is non-woven materials such as spun bond cloth or woven cotton cloth.
These can be sterilized but because it has to be sewn into a garment, it becomes really expensive.
The use of disposable plastic long-sleeved aprons, with thumb loops, is the most viable option. As well as being extremely cost-effective.
Protection without breaking the bank!
A lot of health professionasl are wearing a cotton gown or spun bond gown under the disposable long-sleeved gown with thumb loops. This means they only change their cloth gowns once a day. A new disposable plastic apron is used once for every patient.
This makes for huge savings on multiple cloth gowns, while still offering protection!
